| Ben Day studied at the Central School of Art until 1987. Where early enamelled and jewelled pieces displayed his enduring love for colour and light. In 1990 whilst visiting L.A he was introduced to Maxfields, for whom he produced exclusive collections for their extraordinary Hollywood clients. The LA jewellery district exposed Ben to a wide array of gems, a new palette of expression, which rapidly over took his use of enamel. He continues to travel widely collecting gemstones as his primary source of inspiration. From 1995 onwards Ben's gem set jewellery has been sold in the USA, Japan and London’s Harvey Nichols, Liberty and Selfridges. Ben's belief is that real jewellery by its nature is not for the mass market, but is a personal expression of the passion and love between who buys to give and who wears his work. Capturing that essence is part of his talent. Ben Day opened his first shop and studio in Spitalfields, London in 2002 and on the strength of this success has opened a beautiful new shop and studio in Lonsdale road W11.
